Hello everyone! We’ve been in Xi’an about a week now and students are getting settled into their lives in China. Let’s take a look at some of what we did this week.
First off, the flights were exhausting (of course), but nonetheless exciting. We had to change planes in Beijing—an ordeal involving re-checking baggage and another trip through security—and endured a delay, which was spend on the floor in front of our gate:
But eventually we made it to campus, and to bed. Weather was nice the next day, sunny but not hot, as students explored the campus:
And tried out the cafeteria for the first time:
Students have done a great job adjusting to Chinese food and eating with chopsticks this year (and with learning how to order by hand gesture until they perfect their restaurant Chinese). We enjoyed a welcome lunch of Peking Duck:
Noodles are a big favorite in the cafeteria so far:
Students received school T-shirts as a welcoming present:
That’s all for now. Look forward to some pictures from class and more about school life and other activities next week!
